Erasmus+ Project: Transversal BIM Knowledge for Higher Education

Innosouth is participating with Warnborough College UK, asa lead partner, on an ERASMUS+ sponsored project entitled “Transversal BIM Knowledge in Higher Education” alongside 5 other European partners. BIM stands for Building Information Modelling, and is fast increasing in its popularity as a unique methodology to express technologies.

The project looks at how we can include BIM training in a transversal way in higher education for different fields and specialisations, from Architecture and Engineering to Business Management or Art. Some BIM applications include the rehabilitation of historical buildings, of artistic spaces, or the recovery of historical heritage.

The project aims to involve and engage university professors and heads of departments at higher education institutions to become aware of BIM techniques and integrate these into university curricula. Students will ultimately benefit from this and be work-ready. Moreover, BIM systems and networks promote social and collaborative learning. The project is listed on the ERASMUS+ Projects website.

The 6 project partners are:

  1. Warnborough College (UK) – Project Leader
  2. International Innovation from the South (Spain)
  3. The University of Economics and Innovation (Poland)
  4. ÉK Egyesület (Hungary)
  5. University of Patras (Greece)
  6. Global Contents (Spain)

The project kicked off on 22 June 2021 through an online meeting where partners introduced themselves, and the next steps and responsibilities were assigned.

We are very pleased to work on this project with our esteemed partners, and are sure that our international collaboration will yield an exciting new pathway for higher education curricula.
